- Journal Entries: Text entries, voice recordings, and photos of handwritten notes that you create
- Profile Photo: Optional reference photo for personalized AI-generated images
- Preferences: Your responses during onboarding, notification settings, and custom instructions for affirmation themes
Information Generated by the App
- Affirmations: AI-generated daily affirmations personalized for you
- Narratives: AI-generated themed written reads
- Images: AI-generated images accompanying your affirmations
- Usage Data: Streak tracking, feature usage, and app interaction data

- Device Information: Device type, operating system version
- Analytics: App performance and crash data
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Generate personalized affirmations and narratives based on your journal entries and preferences
- Create AI-generated images, optionally incorporating your reference photo
- Track your streak and progress
- Send notification reminders (if enabled)
- Improve our services and user experience
- Process subscription payments
AI Processing
Mindrise uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized content for you. We use:
- xAI Grok: For generating affirmations, narratives, image prompts, and analyzing journal themes
- Google Gemini: For OCR (transcribing handwritten journal entries) and generating AI images
When journal personalization is enabled, your journal entries are sent to AI providers to extract themes for personalizing your affirmations. This data is sent anonymously (without your name, email, or user ID). xAI operates a zero data retention policy for API usage—inputs and outputs are deleted within 30 days, and your data is not used to train their models. You can disable journal personalization in Settings > Personalization.
For Premium users who upload a reference photo, a description of your appearance (not the photo itself) may be included in image generation prompts to create personalized visualizations.

Data Storage and Security

Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active
- You can delete individual journal entries at any time
- Deleting your account permanently removes all associated data
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data associated with your account
- Delete: Permanently delete your account and all data (Settings > Privacy & Data > Delete Account)
- Export: Request a copy of your data by contacting us
- Opt-out: Disable journal personalization and notification features
Children's Privacy
Mindrise is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
